About The Artist

Noire Velours

Noire Velours is a young 26-year-old singer who launched herself in May 2017 on the Togolese music scene and whose voice justifies her slogan: « Soft is the New Black » (sweetness , the new trend).
From her real name Christelle Houefa Anoumou, she grew up between Togo and Benin, her homeland. She flourished in a family of artists, listening to the melodious voice of her aunt Huguette Bokpe who often invited her to share the stage with her, as well as her pianist cousin Gerard Philippe.
Music becomes obvious to her at the age of 23, her Master in brand strategy in hand after studying at Sup de Pub in Bordeaux (France). Inspired by artists of all stripes, she decides to launch on the Togolese music scene in May 2017 , on her first ever live performance with the orchestra ‘’Dasséfo Groove’’ on the Espace ViVa plateau in Lomé (Togo).
She has since renewed the experience several times and was even a main figure of the 11th edition of the Africa Rythms Festival.
After the success of ‘’Black Is’’ , Viva ma vida and others… she is to be back soon enough with other refreshing solo projects and features.
